The works that comprise Line and Perception reveal a lesser-known facet of Carlos Rojas, centered on his interest in nature and his ability to capture the fluidity of line and evoke the patterns that lie harmoniously within it. Throughout the exhibition, a single line traverses the space, a profound exercise in observation and representation of everything that constituted the artist's environment and interests. The exhibition brings together drawings of orchids and animals, along with early still lifes in which the artist explores the light and color of everyday objects. These paintings engage with the pictorial tradition while anticipating a fundamental transformation in his practice: the development of the Pasted Papers series.
