In "Derivación," Bernardo Montoya works around the medium of painting and reflects on the pictorial processes of color. Starting with a series of works that resemble rocks made with layers of pigment, the artist creates small pieces through industrial processes. These works can be seen as fossils composed of years of overlapping layers of paint, modified and placed in the gallery space to enhance their pictorial quality.
