RECENT WORK

BIOGRAPHY:

The work of Ricardo Rendón (Mexico City, 1970) has constantly explored the use, perhaps contradictory, of industrial materials and artisanal processes in the artistic context: his pieces allude to the repetitive movements of machines, their sounds and their aesthetics, but he exacerbates the role of craftsmanship. He explores gravity through a series of installations that manifest themselves in balance and tension, where the idea of the constant transformation of matter and the impossibility of its destruction prevails. He has exhibited in different cities such as Sao Paulo, Bogotá, New York, Zurich, Madrid and Paris. His work is part of the collections of the Banco de la República de Colombia, the Museum of Modern Art – INBA, the JUMEX Collection and the Cisneros Fontanals Foundation – CIFO, among others. He lives and works in Mexico City.
