Marcela Cardenas (Medellin, 1973)

Observation of nature, hybridization between its main kingdoms and experimentation with matter are common elements in Marcela Cárdenas' work. In her most recent project, Rhipsalis, the artist turns to ceramics with the intention of exploring the possibilities inherent in materials of mineral origin. This interest gives rise to a set of delicate pieces that she later assembles with components of plant origin, thus creating sculptural drawings that recall light and organic fabrics.
