“La vuelta”, Juan Fernando Herrán’s most recent project, is the result of an uninterrupted investigation that the artist has developed in Medellín over the last five years.
Initially, her work focused on finding some of the characters who played active roles during the period of contract killing in the 1980s, in order to try to understand their way of life and the way in which their past, motivated by the power structure that drove these circles, could condition their present, which is now far removed from that frenetic life in which they offered to do “jobs” in exchange for money. Today, these people have changed their lives, doing everyday jobs that have allowed them to reinvent themselves.
