EXHIBITION INFORMATION:

In his most recent work entitled Balance and Concentration, Ricardo Rendón brings together several interests that have always been present in his work and are related to manual work, the value of the process – understood as the accumulation and recording of actions on the material (wood, concrete, copper and fabric) – and the transformation of material forms as an act of creation.

For this project, Rendón creates a series of tension structures, supported by a complex system of pulleys, whose lines draw abstract networks and geometric shapes on the wall. The installations are made of various materials, from industrial felts to stone slabs, which are manually perforated, incorporating the wall into the compositions. In these works, the idea of repetition is presented not only through the traces in the material, but also through the remains of the perforations that are scattered on the floor, as a vestige of the deconstruction/dematerialization of the object.
