Entering a space is a personal and unique experience for the person who experiences it. Even though recording and simulation tools abound, physical space retains characteristics that escape any type of representation; the temperature of light, the touch of light air on the body, or the sensation of spaciousness or narrowness of a place are part of an unconscious but constant bodily perception. Through a practice that combines painting and sculpture, Beatriz Olano (Medellín, 1965) constantly poses a question about space, in particular about minimal architectural facts, ignored by most people. In her works, external references or thematic concerns do not prevail; on the contrary, we find sensitive and intuitive elaborations of the place in which they are located.
