EXHIBITION INFORMATION:

There are supposedly Color Theories. Systems that organize colors and are studied by artists, designers, aspiring graphic designers, and even hairdressers. The problem with these theories is that they are, precisely, theories, not absolute demonstrations of anything. Perhaps with the exception of Newton's famous experiment on the refraction of light through a prism—which evolved into the precise explanation that light is an electromagnetic wave of very short wavelength and that between the refracted colors there are dark bands composed of a special type of electrons that cause the optical illusion called Chromatic Aberration—the rest are conjectures dependent on circular, triangular, and even pyramidal designs. Goethe already suspected that the Newtonian spectrum had traded the pleasure of perceiving colors for the rational order of science: enjoying all the aspects and fragrances of the rose instead of putting it under a microscope.
