A 71-year-old woman.
I am Ana Mercedes Hoyos, writing from my studio in front of my latest work, some paintings of the Salto del Tequendama, a waterfall near Bogotá and an emblem of indigenous mythology. I remember my childhood because I went to this place many times with my parents, Manuel José Hoyos Toro and Ester Mejía Gutiérrez.
My work is becoming more and more disciplined. I have not travelled for 4 years, permanently settled in Bogotá, and I have immersed myself in the most intimate environment that I share with my husband Jacques Mosseri, with whom I have lived for 46 years, with Ana, our daughter, and my granddaughters Ana and Helena.
