"Tracing Papers" is a choice of repetition between gesture and form. Developed from drawing as a dissecting tool, Johanna Arena demonstrates in this work the repetition of a pencil gesture to a pattern, the repetition of the pattern to a symmetrical form on paper, and the repetition of this form to another image. This work is articulated around three axes representing time, body, and space.
