There are images that, when I encounter them, beg to be painted. Often they are women or girls… the sisters I never had, the lives that complete me.
Empathy with the figure I choose is essential for a painting to emerge. Although sometimes I don't know what causes that intense connection with a particular image.
"Souvenir" is a series of paintings that emerge from some corner of memory. Not necessarily from my life, but rather memories that perhaps live in the air and I capture them. These small stories are like snapshots in a found album. They are also a declaration of love for painting.
