PROJECT INFORMATION:

That the sense of reality is discontinuous can be seen in the succession of different art forms. Being a reflection of the existential relationships between human beings and their circumstances, it is natural that, as the cultural context changes, artistic forms transform. If we consider this condition, the fact that the succession of different artistic styles petered out with the aesthetic delirium of the latest avant-garde movements should not surprise us. At that time, despite the modern desire to determine the meaning of history, human beings ultimately absolved themselves of all ideological paradigms, and thus, exempted art from any type of aesthetic dogma.
However, at the moment when that modern illusion began to dissipate, we encountered a key concept for confronting the contemporary landscape. The dérive, an artistic and everyday exercise proposed by a group of revolutionary artists who called themselves Situationists, warned of the political power involved in moving aimlessly through the city, in search of unknown experiences, with the aim of changing the way we see and experience urban life. A notion that, beyond functioning as a strategy to resist the capitalist dynamics of the modern city, presents itself as a metaphor for what is probably the most determining and urgent factor to recognize about the course of history: uncertainty.
