The work of Aldo Chaparro (Lima, 1965) is constructed as a constant exploration of different materials, from wood, ash and stone to steel, acrylics and resin. Mainly through sculpture, but also through painting and installation, he has sought to understand the ways in which volume relates to space. Implementing industrial methods and appealing to the body as an intermediary and activator of this relationship, Chaparro transforms matter in an incessant cycle of construction and deconstruction. His work is part of important collections such as those of the Museo Jumex (Mexico City), the Isabel and Agustín Coppel Collection –CIAC (Mexico), the Cisneros Fontanals Foundation – CIFO (Miami), the Museo de Arte Pérez – PAMM (Miami) and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo —MAC (Lima). He lives and works in Mexico City.
