EXHIBITION INFORMATION:
After the last year, we have turned our attention to questions of enormous importance: the way of life we lead, its sustainability, the usefulness of objects and their meaning; reflections that have modified our actions and their consequences. These circumstances led us to study the work of five artists who redefine different objects and reinterpret ideas from different expressions that come together as necessary and present considerations. Resignify, as the word etymologically designates, is giving another, or a new, meaning to objects in a given context. This exhibition brings together the work of Kevin Mancera (Bogotá, 1982), José Olano (Cali, 1985), Ricardo Rendón (Mexico City, 1970), Lester Rodríguez (Tegucigalpa, 1984) and Carlos Rojas (Albán, 1933 – Bogotá, 1997), understanding the way in which each one adapts this concept in his praxis, borrowing from the past, responding to his interests and the artistic needs of his environment.
