The 14th edition of the Young Art Prize, organized by Colsanitas and the Spanish Embassy, brings together this year 26 Colombian artists who, with a sensitivity typical of their generation, make their place in the world visible in a poetic way. This exhibition starts with a group of works in which the gaze retreats into their inner world and ends with a question about others; a journey where we can get closer to the way in which each of them inhabits and sensitively questions their most immediate political and social environment.
The artistic proposals are becoming more and more complex, a fact that is surely due to the fact that this is a generation that does not find a single answer to the questions about its most immediate reality. Their questions need to be answered in a multiplicity of material and poetic means. Finally, they are artists who work in an interdisciplinary manner, who borrow tools from cinema to construct their works, who debate between painting, drawing and sculpture and who explore sound with the same intensity with which they previously investigated the moving image.
