EXHIBITION INFORMATION:

Vision has been established as a dominant experience within modern Western culture since the 19th century, as a result of diverse historical processes and in direct relation to the widespread use of different technological devices from which the camera emerged triumphant. The experience of modern art is inseparable from this institution of vision as a hegemonic sphere, loaded with social norms and cultural representations. Nicolás Consuegra has been motivated since his initial projects by the exploration of the vicissitudes of modern visuality, which he has explored both in photography and in pictorial and object illusionism. However, the questions that his diverse practices usually formulate have to do with the historical and cultural remnants that are mobilized before - and behind - the images that reality produces.
