“Paper can take anything” is a project by Miler Lagos, which is structured around a rigorous analysis of the importance of paper as a traditional medium for the dissemination of knowledge and learning. The artist reflects on the impact of print media on the behavioural conditioning of humanity throughout its history.
The exhibition is made up of two main works. The first is a series of columns made from carvings on stacks of books, generated from an incisive selection of basic texts from each of the main fields of conditioning of society (religion, art and jurisprudence). In these pieces, Lagos makes a point of power structures, generating associations between the verticality of the pieces and paper, as a medium for containing and disseminating indoctrinating information.
