EXHIBITION INFORMATION:

In the work of Juan Fernando Herrán there is an intention to reflect on the notions of memory, transformation and history, in relation to a specific place and time. Enveloping Chronologies is based on an encounter with the Church of Saint-André-le-Haut in Vienne, France, and on the archaeological studies that have been carried out there for two decades with the intention of discovering the different stages of construction throughout its history, revealing its past, its materiality and its particular condition as a living space. Thus, the artist focuses this project on documenting and recognising the traces of time, seeking to reconstruct the ways in which this space has been used since its constitution in the 8th century until its abandonment at the end of the 1990s.
