In Watered downEsteban Peña delves into the collection of press images that describe the natural catastrophe caused by water in different parts of the world such as the Philippines, Pakistan, the United States or here in Colombia. From there, the idea of speaking about the ambivalence of the power of water arises. On the one hand, its negative impact that floods territories, leaves thousands of people homeless, and destroys prosperous economies, and on the other, the creative power that Peña uses with his watery acrylics to create poetic images of disastrous events.
