A field Luisa Montoya's work brings together a series of pictorial and animation exercises whose motifs and visual solutions resonate with the experience of travel, acceleration, and the contemporary landscape. As a starting point, the artist uses sketches of views captured from a train window during a journey from New York to Rhode Island, in the United States. Here, the train window functions as a frame and grid that delimits the portion of territory the artist sees at a given moment. Given the impossibility of stopping, the gesture must be fluid and schematic, a gesture that on the pictorial surface transforms grasslands, mountains, and skies into fields of continuous color, synthesizing the movement of the journey.
