In Serial, Fernández uses repetition and the heterogeneity of forms to create acoustic images that are articulated as representation codes or language structures.
His work is constructed from three forms of variation in orientation and size, generating a serial system. Likewise, the artist combines geometric patterns that refer to a reiterated order and subvert the communicative function of the line or grid. Using seriality, Fernández creates a deferred view of pictorial space, using glazes or layers of color that create planes or prisms of light. The optical play of transparencies creates a displaced image that allows for different readings of a
same representative model.
