The “Flowering Garden” exhibition is a celebration of creativity and craftsmanship that challenges the canons established by hegemonic art history. Alexandra Agudelo, the artist behind this exhibition, explores and honors traditional crafts and underappreciated artistic expressions, especially those associated with the feminine and the popular.
Through mixed and hybrid techniques, Agudelo challenges the limits of materials and celebrates under-practiced artisanal skills, such as glassblowing and Momposina filigree. The exhibition "Jardín Florido" is a testament to the transformative power of art and craftsmanship, as well as a recognition of the past and present contributions of women in the artistic and cultural spheres.
