The exhibition “Jardín Florido” is a celebration of creativity and artisanal skill that challenges the canons established by hegemonic art history. Alexandra Agudelo, the artist behind this exhibition, explores and honors traditional crafts and undervalued artistic expressions, especially those associated with the feminine and the popular.
Through mixed and hybrid techniques, Agudelo challenges the limits of the material and celebrates rarely practiced artisanal skills, such as glassblowing and Momposina filigree. The exhibition “Jardín Florido” is a testament to the transformative power of art and craftsmanship, as well as a recognition of the past and present contributions of women in the artistic and cultural fields.
