For many painters, the image – and especially the landscape – is also a means of experimenting, of recording the evolution of light, colour and form. For Ana Mosseri, the image has become a tool for approaching painting as a medium, for returning to oil and exploring the potential of acrylic, for painting on raw linen or using black gesso. There is, in her series, a place that is repeated, a landscape that has been the ideal background for portraying her daughters, a path full of foliage where the green of the savannah predominates, which now, in itself, has become an excuse to paint.
