The sculpture “Study for the monument to Evita Perón” (1972) by Carlos Rojas is now part of the permanent exhibition hall Touching the Void at MoMA NY.
This room brings together works from 1940 to 1970 by artists who explored the poetics of forms, focusing their work on structural elements such as lines, planes and volumes. Different artists in Europe, Asia and America constructed a language based on compositions of geometric shapes and colours that were reduced to the nuances of the material itself. Carlos Rojas worked on these concepts in his sculptural work where he used lines as an element of space construction.
