INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:

Laura Ceballos works primarily in the field of sculpture. Her work is based on the recognition of the city and the redefinition of the objects that make up the urban circuit.

Since her beginnings, the artist has been interested in the use of industrial materials and the intervention of public spaces, through actions that alter the usual perception of passers-by.

In several of her recent works, Ceballos has focused her attention on the construction of large volumes in which she exalts the properties of matter and reconfigures its plastic meaning. In Proyecto Terráqueo, the artist spent a year collecting pieces of asphalt from the holes in the streets and the imperfections of the sidewalks. With these fragments of the city, Ceballos created a large mass that, through scale, seeks to accentuate the perception of space from its relationship with the spectator. For this piece, the artist fused the collected material, and from a complex assembly that includes an extensive work of accumulation and appropriation of the city's waste, Ceballos represented her conception of The Earth.
